Discover a pair of artists creating art in the midwest…

Who we are…

Broadmeadow is the literal translation of Bradley (Brad:broad + Ley:leigh/lea which means meadow). It not only represents our name but how we see the world.

We are a mother and daughter who observe and sketch or paint the world around us, whether it be by Urban Sketching of local places or painting scenes of midwestern America where we live. Occasionally we also record our travels in art. Creating memories in this fashion evokes more memories and emotions of the moment than a mere photograph which can get lost in an album. It also satisfies our passion for creative expression.

We represent some of our work here together because sometimes we see the world similarly and sometimes not so similarly. Kathy (mom) primarily does line and wash sketches, and paintings in gouache, watercolor and oil. She has done art casually for over 50 years, and has more recently devoted serious time to hone her skills. Margret loves to dabble in bright splashes of watercolor. She is also frequently found with iPad in hand working on her graphic novels.
